  • External Relations DG RELEX
    The External Relations DG RELEX contributes to an effective and coherent external policy of the EU and enables the union to assert its identity on the international scene. The DG is responsible for the Commission's relations with international organisations, such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe, as well as the Commission's participation in the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).     The Development DG helps to reduce and ultimately to eradicate poverty in the developing countries through the promotion of sustainable development, democracy, peace and security.
